A Fala route

Walking route through the A Fala Valley. This route connects the three villages of Sierra de Gata where this rare dialect is spoken (Eljas, San Martín de Trevejo and Valverde del Fresno). It is the PR-CC-184 trail, a beautiful, pleasant, easy and well-signposted circuit.
 

Villa de Gata

The town of Gata, also declared a historical and artistic site, is located at the foot of the mountain range, in a lovely valley. It is surrounded by the rugged crests of the steep mountains. Its architecture, landscape and gastronomy are enveloped in the purest essence of the Sierra de Gata.
 

Trevejo castle

Located in the town of Trevejo (20 minutes from our Hotel), stands this 12th-century castle which was built on a Muslim base. It belonged to the Orders of Santiago and Alcántara, and was destroyed during the French invasion.
 

Ethnographic museum in Cilleros

This is a typical rural house from the mid-20th century which has been adapted as a museum. It has three storeys, where the life of a well-off family before the mechanisation of farming is showcased. The museum is in Cilleros, 20 minutes away from the Hospedería.
 

Molino del Medio oil museum in Robledillo de Gata

A former oil press that has been transformed into a museum in the municipality of Robledillo de Gata. The visit covers the original machinery, an exhibition of objects related to oil and a tasting session of two varieties of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (AOVE).
 

Regional interpretation centre in Torre de Don Miguel

This space is located in the town of Torre de Don Miguel, and transmits the essence of the Sierra de Gata region with information panels and audiovisuals, enabling travellers to plan their stay.

San Blas

The festival of San Blas is celebrated in the villages of Sierra de Gata in February. The traditional processions, horse races and tastings of confectionery are the highlights of this popular festival.
