Valle del Ambroz

The town of Hervás, sheltered by mount Pinajarro, is an authentic paradise for nature and rural tourism enthusiasts. The Ambroz Valley offers fascinating scenery, especially in spring and autumn. For more active visitors, the area around Hervás has some natural swimming pools in summer, and a ski resort for the winter.
The former Jewish quarter, the churches, the palaces and the museums round off the range of cultural options of a town that is always welcoming and unforgettable.

Church of Santa María de Aguas Vivas

Located at the highest point of Hervás, this church was built on the site of an old 13th-century Templar castle, on the banks of the river Ambroz. From its vantage point, one can enjoy some of the most beautiful panoramic views of the town and the mountains.
 

Museum of Classic Motorcycles and Cars

One of Spain's first museums of Classic Motorcycles is located in Hervás. It has a wide variety of means of locomotion from different eras, such as motorbikes and classic cars, period carriages, tricycles, dolls' prams, and others.

Trails in Ambroz Valley

There are different routes and trails that take us into the spectacular landscapes of the Ambroz Valley. The valley has 200 kilometres of certified trails, where you can enjoy nature in all senses. The highlights are the Bosques de Ambroz trail, and the route of La Chorrera.

La Covatilla Ski Resort

The ski resort of La Covatilla, in the Sierra de Béjar mountains, is 40 kilometres away from the hotel, and comprises an extremely well-rounded leisure option for snow sports' enthusiasts. It has 31 pistes and all of the services necessary for a full day of skiing.

Los Conversos Festival

A cultural festival held in Hervás in the first week of July, when the village goes back to the 15th century, dressing itself up in medieval style. The aim is to relive the period of co-existence of the Jewish and Christian communities and celebrate their legacy, which has reached the present, through theatre, music and gastronomy.

A unique event in Extremadura, in which illusion and magic join forces to delight spectators of all ages.

Magical Autumn

In autumn, the Ambroz Valley turns into a nature area full of colour and activities. A festival declared a Fiesta of national interest is held every weekend in November, with activities in all of the municipalities of the district: gastronomy, craft, routes, music, markets, etc.

Railway interpretation centre

Located in Hervás' old railway station, less than 5 minutes from the Hospedería, this centre offers a route through the historical evolution of the railway in Extremadura. 
 

Granadilla

At the Gabriel y Galán reservoir is this old walled town, founded by the Muslims in the 9th century. Granadilla was declared a historical and artistic site in 1980.
